Theodora Christou's Bio:

Dr Theodora Christou is co-founder and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Transition Law (CASTL). The aim of the centre is to ensure that law acts as an enabler of sustainable transformations. One area of work has been on the digital trade/economy agenda. Dr Theodora A Christou was awarded a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London for the thesis entitled 'Justice and Trust: Human Rights and the European Arrest Warrant'. She holds an LLM from King's College London and was called to the Bar at Lioncoln's Inn. She has worked in over 20 countries and has been involved in projects in over 80 different jurisdictions. Teaching: At Queen Mary University of London she is Module Convenor of LLM in Transnational Law and Governance and also of Fundamentals of Law and Professional Ethics. At the LSE she is co-convenor of International Human Rights Law. She has taught Criminal Law at QMUL, was module concvenor of LLM in International Protection of Human Rights at the UIniversity of Surrey and also course convenor of the 'Forced Migration and Human Rights' unit on the MSc Refugee Studies at LSBU. Theodora is a consultant primarily on Transnational Law and Governance, Sustainability, Human Rights, Technology and the law, and Legal Reform, but also on other areas of interest including EU law, rule of law, public international law, transitional justice, the link between human rights and commercial law, energy and natural resources law and transnational law. As a consultant she works on cases before regional and international bodies and courts, conducts applied research, designs and implements training including the production of material and manuals, consults on legal reform, sustainable transition and transitional justice. Theodora Christou is an elected member of the Bar Human Rights Committee (BHRC) Executive.
